Let’s Establish the New Moon and Full Moon as Holidays of Earth Preservation

By Ron H. Feldman | April 16, 2015

Today the Gregorian calendar, including the seven-day week, is so intrinsic and essential to the global economy that few ever reflect on how it is a human created contrivance that imposes these cycles on the natural world (note, for instance, weekly patterns of human work and associated pollution).

Sleeping in the Dust at Burning Man

By Ron H. Feldman | July 28, 2013

If “sabbath, sunshine, and sexual intercourse” offer a foretaste of the world-that-is-coming, as the Talmud suggests, then could the Burning Man festival be understood as a taste of this messianic future?

“Michael Lerner takes the universal qualities wrongly diminished as ‘feminine’—caring, kindness, empathy, love—and dares to make them guides to a new kind of politics that can challenge the cruelty, competition, and dominance wrongly elevated as ‘masculine.’ Revolutionary Love opens our minds and hearts to a fully human way of living and governing.” — Gloria Steinem, feminist activist, and author of My Life on the Road

How to Be an Activist

At a time when demonizing those who are not yet with us is commonplace and the political discourse is becoming more polarized, widening the political gap, insisting on seeing the humanity of others even when you despise their behavior, is a radical political act. Become curious. Ask not what is wrong with someone you don't agree with, but rather what is driving them to support policies that are so hurtful to others.
