Trump Motivates Congressional GOP on Health Bill

Donald J. Trump issued a warning to Republican House members in a closed-door meeting on Capitol Hill as dissension within GOP ranks over the proposed Obamacare replacement bill has been heating up.

According to widespread reports, Trump told lawmakers he would help ensure they lose their seats in 2018 if they don’t back the GOP health-care bill.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell echoed that threat, telling reporters “the American people would be deeply disappointed” if turncoats within the ranks prevent passage of the bill when it comes up soon in the House.

While there’s been an upswell of anger toward members of Congress by phone, in visits to their D.C. and district offices and in their local Town Hall meetings over the planned repeal of Obamacare, the GOP establishment has largely written that off as the work of paid protesters.

However, Trump reportedly told House members he’ll mobilize the same 3 to 5 million illegal voters that deprived him of a popular majority in the general election to vote against dissenters from the proposed bill.

“They’re illegals, they’re not eligible for government health care, so I’ll tell them, ‘What do they have to lose?’” Trump said.

“When they come out to vote next year—you’re fired!”
