All of us at Tikkun appreciate your contribution to the NSP and the Tikkun Community very much and to our campaigns for a. peace and reconciliation between Israel and Palestine b. the ESRA Environmental and Social Responsibility Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, c. the Global Marshall Plan, d. helping people in the left side of the political spectrum (anyone who recognizes the importance of using government to offset the tremendous pain and economic deprivations caused by the normal operations of the corporate-dominated capitalist marketplace) understand that Americans have spiritual (what we have also called “meaning”) needs, and that until progressives and liberals move beyond narrowly framed policy discussions to speak to the hearts of people yearning for a life in which there is more dignity, mutual recognition of who they are and why they should be valued, and love/generosity/kindness, the rest of the Left’s policies will not reach enough people to win the economic and political changes that are needed, and e. the transformations of consciousness needed in Western countries so that we can all recognize that our well-being depends on the well-being of everyone else alive on the planet today, and of course, the well-being of the planet itself.

I’m never sure how to get across to our donors, members and subscribers how very much I personally appreciate your help. It’s not only that we would stop functioning without it, but also that on a human level this act of solidarity on your part makes me and my staff feel that we are not alone, and that our own stress over funding and financing is worth it.

For your accounting records, Tikkun and the NSP, programs of the Institute for Labor and Mental Health, gratefully acknowledge your tax-deductible contribution. You will receive a confirmation of the amount of your donation by email and/or postal mail.

Please accept our deepest gratitude for your generosity. Your tax-deductible contributions make our work possible, and gives me hope that we can make a difference together!!!

Rabbi Michael Lerner
Tikkun Community/Network of Spiritual Progressives

P.S. As America’s public political discourse becomes increasingly a capitulation to the needs of America’s economic and political elites of wealth and power, and all else gets dismissed as “unrealistic,” the voice of Tikkun and the Network of Spiritual Progressives becomes ever more important. We want to invite you to set up a monthly meeting at your home to which you invite friends, relatives, neighbors, members of your civic, religious or political communities, to read and discuss editorials and articles in Tikkun. Out of that may eventually grow a group of people who would work together to seek public endorsements of our Global Marshall Plan and/or our ESRA–Environmental and Social Responsibility Amendment to the US Constitution and/or support our petition drive for Middle East peace. We’ll be happy to supply information, brochures, and petitions if you’ll help get them in the hands of your community and your public officials!!! You can download and make copies of our articles on the website for the purpose of creating this kind of home-based or church/synagogue/mosque/ashram-based study group!
