rssfeed

This is an easy way to get links to our latest stories as soon as they’re posted. Just click here. You’ll be given several options for how to receive Tikkun Daily’s blog feed. Choose the Google icon and then choose “Add to Google homepage.” Now whenever you go to www.google.com to do a web search, you will see a little box with links to Tikkun Daily’s latest stories.

The reason this is possible is that Tikkun Daily has an RSS feed associated with it. People who read many different blogs often sign up for an “RSS reader.” The reader aggregates the feeds of all the blogs that you sign up for so you can keep tabs on them all at once. Google’s homepage is set up to function as a very basic reader, but there are many other kinds of readers, too. Here’s a good article about RSS feeds and the various readers that are available.

Follow us on Twitter, a social “micro-blogging” site (click here).

The Wikipedia entry on Twitter is quite informative. Here’s a snippet:

Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read each others’ updates, known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters, displayed on the author’s profile page and delivered to other users – known as followers – who have subscribed to them. Senders can restrict delivery to those in their circle of friends or, by default, allow open access.

Twitter users can follow tweets on the Twitter website or receive them as text messages to their cell phones. If you decide to “follow” Tikkun on twitter, you’ll get tweets about especially exciting new blog posts and art galleries from Tikkun Daily.
