Jason Van Boom is a contributor to the new anthology All-American: 45 American Men on Being Muslim (edited by Zahra Suratwala and Wajahat Ali- www.allamericanmuslimmen.wordpress.com). Born in Oakland, California, Jason is an historian, writer, journalist, and poet. His current research interests lie in comparative studies of Christian and Islamic thought. He did his doctoral studies at Graduate Theological Union, specializing in the history of Christianity. He got his M.A. in medieval philosophy from Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology, and his B.A. in liberal arts from Thomas Aquinas College, Santa Paula, California. He was the original host of Islam and Authors, the first program in America dedicated to new books on Islam and Muslims. Jason contributes to Huffington Post, ILLUME Magazine, and Tikkun Daily.
