Jason Hamza van Boom was born in Oakland, California. He is the host of Islam and Authors: On-Stage Conversations with Authors of New Books and Plays, sponsored by Islamic Cultural Center of Northern California (www.iccnc.org) and co-sponsored by Islamic Networks Group and Illume Media. He is the cultural programs coordinator at Islamic Cultural Center of Northern California, and a 2009-2010 Islamic Scholarship Fund recipient. Hamza is in the PhD program in the History of Christianity at Graduate Theological Union, Berkeley. He received his MA in philosophy from Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology and his BA in liberal arts from Thomas Aquinas College, Santa Paula, California.
