Eiren Caffall is a musician and freelance writer living and working in Chicago. The great-granddaughter of an Episcopal Bishop, she is the daughter of a geophysicist and a Beatnik Shaker Acolyte. She has always dwelled in the places where art, spirit, aesthetics and science meet. She writes both personal memoir and meditations on spiritual life during global climate change. She writes music about heartbreak and grace, and essays about finding the trick of memory that helps us survive. Her songs and stories are tiny anthems for that moment when you think you might drown, and, failing to swim, you unexpectedly begin to fly.

You can see examples of her work at her website www.eirencaffall.com. Her essay "And Now Witness the Ending, Beautiful and Terrible" was published in Doug Fogelson's book The Time After alongside the work of Derrick Jensen. She is currently at work on her fourth album and first book. She lives with her son Dexter, where they spend most of their time articulating skeletons and beach combing.
