Chisda Magid was born in Jerusalem in 1985 and moved to Boston in 1989. There, he attended elementary and middle school at an Orthodox Jewish Day school in Brookline, Massachusetts. While earning a bachelors degree in political science with a focus on the Middle East, Chisda was active in environmental and progressive political issues. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa, Chisda pursued a culinary career before moving to Washington, D.C. and interning at J Street, which identifies itself as "the political home for pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans." Chisda is a regular contributor to Tikkun, writing primarily about American foreign policy in Israel / Palestine. He currently resides in New York.
