Lauren,
I Concur. Worked with Long Term care, Head Injuries, With "Problematic" Behavior's for years. WILL keep you on your toes! Worked a NeuroPsych Perpetual Lock up/Dementia Lock up Divided Unit. They ALWAYS short staffed on the Dementia side, Pulled us from Our side, which was paid for by State&County.
Accounting Game's.
When CPA's, who Cannot See past the end of Next Quarter, RUN Things, A Lot of Stupid Stuff get's Misused or Wasted. That goes for Just bout ANY Outfit that run's that Short term.
Care!
If your Always shifting People around, with NO continuing care for Patient's, NOT doing cross shift info Exchange, cause they Don't want to Pay for a Half Hours Time to info share... Pay is CRAP anyways, "Wet's" at the "Safeway", get Paid More, than the People, Who Wipe Your ASS, when YOU Can't.
MISTAKES HAPPEN, specially if you being Squeezed for People ALL the time. Even Ontario Canada has this Stupid Policy, trying to be "Businesslike".
Not Thinking long-term, Costing Misery, Mistakes, and VERY Expensive Lawsuit's. DUMB.
Health, Military, Prisons, Should NOT be a Run for Profit Business!!! Can NOT "Trust" to THAT, No Accountability.

Pass as is, they Will NEVER Deserve any "Trust", Again. And, WE Will HAVE to Work Our Butt's Off, to find an Alternate. I Apologize for the run on.
Still Plan for Alternatives.
We Need a "None-of the Above" at the Ballot Box.

Good point except I disagree with one statement. Computers do not eliminate the need for humans in health care. People need to be cared for by people.

There is a tremendous amount of cost-shifting in our current system. A great deal of our health care costs are born out by local government through police, jails and emergency rooms, the three most expensive (in both monetary and human terms), and least effective means of "care." Our county would love to spend that money on preventive care and schools, but unfortunately, jail is a mandate.

Our jail is packed with individuals with mental illness, substance abuse disorders, developmental and learning disabilities. Also with the homeless who are the same people. Guess who visits the ER on a weekly basis?

Reagan's elimination of residential mental health care and simultaneous institution of mandatory minimum sentencing was absolutely criminal.

Now, insurance companies are linking costs to natural catastrophes on national TV. Is there any question about who pays for the commercials? The consumer of health care? No, the people won't stand for it. Why? Why? do journalists ignore the metrics of health care? Isn't maximum efficiency achieved when all have proper care, including preventative care? Costs increases as care diminishes. What care is the most efficient and why? The most productive and why? The least costly and why? What are the assets of companies besides chairs, tables, computers and buildings to house them? Phones and computers can and are manned by people in foreign countries. Explain. How expensive is record keeping and collections? Computers remove much of the need for humans.

We have clocks that tract our national debt. Clocking premature human deaths for lack of means and or health insurance is appropriate. Is not life valuable? We need a 60 Minutes Clock, or a Times Square new year countdown clock. Christians should demand care and compassion, or they're not Christian.

This is inspiring. President Obama is finally taking a strong stand. We the people must support and speak up for the Public Option and a strong health-care reform bill. Get involved in your communities, do phone campaigning. We the people.
