Please send this out widely to seek signatures. From the people at Free Speech For People:
They write:
To correct the damage the Supreme Court has done to the First Amendment, we need to pass a constitutional amendment of our own that puts people ahead of corporations.
Below is our resolution in support of the Free Speech for People Amendment.
ADD YOUR NAME IN SUPPORT OF THIS RESOLUTION»
WHEREAS the First Amendment to the United States Constitution was designed to protect the free speech rights of people, not corporations;
WHEREAS, for the past three decades, a divided United States Supreme Court has transformed the First Amendment into a powerful tool for corporations seeking to evade and invalidate democratically-enacted reforms;
WHEREAS, this corporate takeover of the First Amendment has reached its extreme conclusion in the United States Supreme Court’s recent ruling in Citizens United v. FEC;
WHEREAS, the United States Supreme Court’s ruling in Citizens United v. FEC overturned longstanding precedent prohibiting corporations from spending their general treasury funds in our elections;
WHEREAS, the United States Supreme Court’s ruling in Citizens United v. FEC will now unleash a torrent of corporate money in our political process unmatched by any campaign expenditure totals in United States history;
WHEREAS, the United States Supreme Court’s ruling in Citizens United v. FEC presents a serious and direct threat to our democracy;
WHEREAS, the people of the United States have previously used the constitutional amendment process to correct those egregiously wrong decisions of the United States Supreme Court that go to the heart of our democracy and self-government;
NOW HEREBY BE IT RESOLVED THAT WE THE UNDERSIGNED VOTERS OF THE UNITED STATES CALL UPON THE UNITED STATES CONGRESS TO PASS AND SEND TO THE STATES FOR RATIFICATION A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT TO RESTORE THE FIRST AMENDMENT AND FAIR ELECTIONS TO THE PEOPLE.

Yes, it is time we take America back for the people. Our government is not only for us, and of us, but also by us, not by mega corporations whose interest are not the same as the interests of the average American citizen.
Simple Question? Whats the diff between – K!lling a CH!LD – for some warped view of the world – - – Or doing it for a dollar? – - – Simple example – “IHS” — Used for big-pharma as there ready made geuinnee-rats – - – and condoned by those assigned to protect – The Natives – Your Senators on the Indian Affares commitee – - – Is it okay – for one to do it – - – and yell morality – when the other does it? HEY-HEY – - – I have a way to make a buck!!!! What a warped world we have. When even investors condon such actions. So how many Ch!ldren been killed over the yr’s – For what is screamed out – It’s for the greater good? That darn log in ones own eye!!
I have a simple question? Since the treaty’s with the Natives are Under International Law – clearly stated in the Constitution and international laws – The question being – If I was to place a lien on the United States for treaty violations – To stop these act of violations – well – one could say – they declaired war on the Natives things they done – But lets just look at the Law – How much would the dollar be worth then? One would say – If all you think about is money – Then one might think some. About what there doing.
I am affiliated with the Wyoming Liberty Group, but I am speaking for myself as an individual here.
WLG was key in presenting a strong case for overturning FEC control of free speech. The FEC lawyer, when asked by the Justices if the FEC had power to ban books, said yes, but they probably wouldn’t use it. The ruling, while having consequences for corporate money in elections, was the right ruling. Congress exceeded its authority to limit speech.
Rather than try to go backward, let’s go forward. What is lacking in elections is transparency and disclosure: even MORE free speech. Let’s not let corporations hide behind facile smooth election messages. Let’s pass laws that require political speech to identify the speaker: WHO is saying what. Americans are not stupid. Let’s give them more information, and make speech more free than before. Let the corporations spend their money. Who will be listening when we know who is speaking?
Lets trust America and trust our constitutional freedoms.
