Rather than being ideologically rigid, Alan Keyes might be rightfully avoiding the slippery slope. Very often in the past conservatives have supported politicians whose fundamental view of human nature and the polis is radically opposed to ours, but who say the right things, and even agree on practical policies. These politicians (George W. Bush?), while supportive in particulars, have in general done far more harm than good, precisely because they and their party view human beings and their governance in a radically different way than do conservatives. First principles DO matter. The neo-con path and the traditionally conservative path might cross at some points, but they lead in utterly different directions.

I'm with you on that, Otto. My interest is solely on the cult of Sarah, and the reactions of different conservatives to the same.

Now the left wing media has another Sarah rumor started

Some blogs are sayng that Sarah Palin's father, Chuck Heath, told reporters that the reason she quit the University of Hawaii after one semester is because
"the presence of so many Asians and Pacific Islanders made her uncomfortable: "They were a minority type thing and it wasn't glamorous, so she came home."

No one in their right mind would admit to something like that.
How low can they go?
