Thank you so much for profiling my work on the Tikkun Daily Blog.

I would be remiss if I did not point out a correction, however, with regard to the number of knots on a tallit. Although it is often (incorrectly) stated that each tallit contains 613 knots, one for each of the 613 mitzvot, in fact each corner of the tallit consist of 8 strands and 5 knots (only 20 knots in total...) The relationship with the number 613 can be explained as follows: Using Hebrew numerology (Gematria) the value of the word "Tzitzit" (which is what each of the corner fringes is called) is 600. Add the eight strands plus the five knots and the total is 613.

The interested reader can be directed to a webpage called "Tallit Talk" for further information.

I would also be remiss if I did not mention that for the past few years since meeting my husband, Mark Liebowitz of Wilmark Stained Glass Studios, in addition to textile work I have been designing for glass for homes, synagogues, and public spaces. We are looking forward to many colorful collaborations!

Again, thank you Tikkun. Todah Rabah.
